Author and Pastor John Piper wrote, “Worship is gladly reflecting back to God the radiance of His worth.” What is so great about that definition is that anything we do can be worship. Our jobs, hobbies, parenting, relationships…anything can be a way of gladly worshiping God. This absolutely includes our giving. By growing in generous giving, we grow in worship by gladly reflecting back to God the recognition that everything we have is from Him.
HVC is a generous church(!) – generous in the time you give to caring for and serving others, and generous with your financial giving. By giving, you participate in reminding yourselves and others that “God is the giver of all good things”, and that we are completely dependent on Him for our lives.
Our online giving is one way to make the giving process easier and more regular. We have researched several partners and found Vanco’s e-giving to be completely secure and tremendously easy to work with. Just a few clicks can get you started, stop, or change what you give.
If you are logging in for the first time you will be asked to create a password and on return you will enter the password you created. This allows you to have the option anytime to increase, decrease or cease regularly scheduled deductions.
Benefits to Giving Online:
1. You are taking a step of faith. When you sign up to give online you are deciding in advance to faithfully give. God always blesses that kind of faith!
2. You will simplify your life. You won’t have to remember whether you gave this month or need to send in an offering by mail when you’re out of town.
3. You will be helping the church. Every person who gives through automatic giving makes our record keeping much easier.
4. You can focus on worship. During the offering at church instead of having to get out a pen and write out a check, you can focus on God during the song while the offering is being taken.
